Welcome to our guide to the fantastic Segway Ninebot e-scooters. We’ll be going over what they are, what each one does and who we think each model is best suited to.
What’s a Ninebot scooter?
Ninebot is Segway’s brand of electric scooters. They feature a modern design. The range has different scooters with varying levels of performance, weights and range to suit different users. Prices start at around £400 in the UK for the cheaper models in the range.
These e-scooters are not very waterproof and can’t be taken out in the rain.
What’s different about the Ninebots compared to other scooters?
Comparing the Ninebot range
The Max G30
This is an awesome scooter with a 25km/h top speed and a range of around 65km. Unlike the majority of Ninebot scooters, this one comes with air-filled tyres for a bit of extra comfort.
Ninebot E25E
The E25E has a 300w motor and a range of 13.6 miles. The top speed is slower than the G30 and has around a 20km/h speed. It takes around 3.5 hours to get a full charge.
Like a lot of eScooters, it’s not waterproof so take care in the rain. You’ve got solid tyres here and the wheel size is 9″ / 22.9cm.
Who’s is best for? Overall a great little scooter but a lighter upper weight of 100kg and a 300w motor, the E25E is better for lightweight use. There’s no suspension here either so if your route involves anything other than pristine flat surfaces, look elsewhere.
Ninebot E45E
The E45 is one of the bigger, better models in the Ninebot set of eScooters. The main selling points being the whopping 28-mile potential range (45km) and an out-of-the-box top speed of 15.5mph / 25 km/h.
You’re getting solid 22.9cm wheels here but the E45E does have front-wheel suspension, which most of the other Ninebot’s don’t have.
On the downside, the battery takes around 7.5 hours to charge up, so you’ll need to plan your re-fuelling in advance.
Ninebot Air T15
This is Segway’s most portable Ninebot scooter. At just over 10kg and fully foldable, it’s an impressive scooter for the weight.
Having said that the motor here is 250 watts and the range drops down to 7.5 miles. The top speed here is also substantially less than the other Ninebots, at under 13mph / 20km/h.
Who’s it best for? It’s designed to be easy to take with you, either in the car or on public transport. Designed for ‘last mile’ commuting, it’s not a scooter for long-range journeys.
It’s also quite expensive at just under £600. Has a specific buyer in mind of someone wanting a very lightweight scooter to cover shorter distances.
Which is the best Segways Ninebot Scooter?
What’s the UK warranty like?
Segway’s Ninebot range comes with a hefty 2-year warranty backed with Segway. Depending on where you buy your scooter, it might also be covered by the reseller’s warranty too.
Where’s the best place to buy one?
The obvious choice is to buy direct from Segway, which is a good option.
However, we know some buyers actually prefer to buy their scooters from a re-seller because if anything goes wrong, they are able to send out replacement parts. with Segway, you’ll likely have to return the whole scooter.
Downsides to Ninebot scooters
Price
These are great quality scooters, backed by an obviously huge brand. That comes at a price. Although the cheaper models can be picked up at around the £400 mark, prices go up quite a bit from there. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly scooter, try some of our Ninebot alternatives.
